Police have not laid any charges in last month's incident in Falealupo that left a 14-year-old schoolgirl critically injured, Acting Police Commissioner Leausalilō Norman Meni says.
Speaking to the Samoa Observer by phone, Leausalilō confirmed the investigation is continuing.
"At this stage, no relevant charges have been made. Police are still carrying out their process, but at this time no charges have been laid against the bus driver whose bus struck the girl," he said.
Last month, the Samoa Observer reported that the 14-year-old student of Itu Asau College was admitted to the intensive care unit at Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital after she was struck by a bus outside CS Mart in Falealupo.CCTV footage caught the moment when she was struck as she was crossing the road.
Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
