Escape to the Country viewers saw potential Charlotte looking to leave the hustle and bustle of London behind.17:46, 14 Jul 2026Updated 17:46, 14 Jul 2026Escape to the Country presenter Denise Nurse was given the task of finding one person their dream home in Gloucester during an episode of the hit BBC show.‌Charlotte, a PA assistant from London wanted to relocate to the countryside to a three-bedroom home with a budget of £550,000.‌Detailing certain aspects she required, such as being on the edge of a village, the home being a character property with off-street parking and a downstairs toilet, the BBC star had her work cut out.‌As the search kicked off, Denise took Charlotte and her son Ben to Leonard Stanley first to show them the home that could potentially woo them over.However, Charlotte seemed blown away instantly with the outside of the home as she commented: "Oh wow, first impressions are very good! This is spot on. This is kind of everything I would hope for from the outside. It looks fabulous!"‌With her son confessing he could picture his mum settling in there, the pair headed inside to take a closer look, where the glowing praise kept on coming, reports Gloucestershire Live.Immediately enchanted by the wooden beams in the first reception room, Charlotte highlighted how full of character it was — ticking one of her key boxes.Stepping into the kitchen, she told the BBC presenter: "I love this cottagey feel, it's cosy and especially as a lot of the time it'll just be the cat and me. This is just perfect.‌"Yeah, I'm almost lost for words, which is quite unlike me, really." Denise replied: "A little bit emotional?" Charlotte added: "Yeah, well, yeah, because this is very real now. This is plenty big enough."Despite being shown several additional properties with her son, when it came to reaching a decision, it was the first home in Leonard Stanley that left a lasting impression on Charlotte.‌When quizzed about her next move following the viewings, she told the property expert: "I'm very interested in that first property. I would love to go and see it again, just you know, with a more level head and having seen what else I've seen."I do want to explore the area where it is a bit more because I'm not familiar with that area, so I want to know how well connected it is and what's in the vicinity.
