A 20-year-old woman has been charged with arson over a wildfire which has been burning since Saturday near Manchester.Shania Care-Slede, of Hyde, was arrested on Monday and has now been charged with aggravated arson, being reckless as to whether life was endangered, and dangerous driving.She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon.The fire, near the Dovestone Reservoir, broke out on the weekend and has since been declared a major incident.It is one of three significant wildfires affecting Manchester, with many in the city reporting smoke and the smell of burning.In Derbyshire, a major incident was declared on Sunday at Tintwistle Moor, where a persistent blaze, which ignited on 24 June, has already consumed more than 240 hectares (600 acres) of woodland and moorland.The Dovestone Reservoir fire has left large swathes of earth scorched (Reuters)Meanwhile, smoke from a wildfire near Conwy Mountain in north Wales has drifted across Greater Manchester, prompting the evacuation of 36 homes.
