A man accused in a murder case, along with his family members, ended their lives by jumping in front of a passing goods train at Singarayakonda Railway Station in Prakasam district on Tuesday (July 14, 2026). The deceased were identified as Kudumula Harikrishna (33) from Ravurivari Kandriga village in the TP Gudur mandal of SPSR Nellore district, his wife Pranitha (30), daughter Manvitha (4), and son Krishna Kiriti (3).According to the Ongole Government Railway Police Station (GRP), the incident occurred on the northern side of Platform No. 2 at Singarayakonda Railway Station at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday. The family of four succumbed to their injuries on the spot.During the course of the investigation, the police identified Kudumula Harikrishna as the accused (A-1) in Crime No. 149/2026 of the Buchireddypalem Urban Police Station, registered under Sections 103(1), 238, and 5 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).According to the police, Harikrishna is accused of killing his brother-in-law, Nadavati Srihari, the Mandal Agriculture Officer from Kotha Minagallu village, on July 6, 2026, and has been absconding since then.Nellore Railway sub division DSRP G. Muralidhar, clues team, FSL team visited the scene of offence. The exact circumstances leading to the deaths, the sequence of events, and all other related aspects are under thorough investigation, Mr. Muralidhar said in a statement.Based on the information received, a case has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).(Persons having suicidal thoughts or in distress may ‘Dial 100’ for help).
