The post-mortem of the tiger found dead on Monday was conducted on Tuesday. As per the preliminary examination, there was no material to suspect foul play in the animal’s death.The carcass of the male tiger, about 10 years of age, was found at Thotad Mane, close to the Masagali State Forest area, which is adjacent to the Bhadra Tiger Reserve.As the incident came to the notice of senior officers late in the evening on Monday, the post-mortem was scheduled for Tuesday.K.T. Boraiah, Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF), Chikkamagaluru, told The Hindu that the post-mortem was conducted as per the standard operating procedure of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). “There was a panel of veterinarians. We conducted an examination with metal detectors to check if there was any foreign element. We also used sniffer dogs.
