Chief Minister C. Joesph Vijay inaugurated a few public health units, urban health centres and health sub-centres in the district through videoconference on Tuesday.The Chief Minister inaugurated the public health unit at Aarudesam (₹50 lakh) and Rajakkalmangalam (₹65 lakh), health sub-centres at Puththenthurai (₹50 lakh) and Rajavoor (₹45 lakh) and urban primary health centre at Unnamalaikadai (₹1.50 crore).Minister for Tourism S. Rajesh Kumar, District Collector M. Prathap, District Health Officer Namasivayam and others were present.In Tenkasi district, an additional building in Surandai Primary Health Centre (₹75 lakh), primary health centre at Karivalamvanthanallur (₹45 lakh) were inaugurated in the presence of Minister for Environment and Climate Change V.K. Rajeev and District Collector Ranjeet Singh.Mr. Rajeev also inaugurated the additional buildings built at the cost of ₹2.11 crore in Avvaiyar Government Higher Secondary School at Pavoorchatram.
