Charter Communications is set to discontinue its Network Operations Center (NOC) in Town and Country, Missouri, in a move that will see 107 employees laid off.The company announced the planned layoffs via a WARN notice filing last week (July 8).In the filing, Charter noted that it has decided to "discontinue the operation of its Network Operations Center," which is located at 941 Charter Commons Street in Town and Country, a city located in Missouri."This action is expected to be permanent. As a result, we anticipate that 107 employees will be impacted on September 8, 2026," wrote Charter. The employees impacted are listed as being engineers.The center is a regional office for business, finance, and corporate support teams under the Spectrum brand, reports Fox 2, which added that other teams that work from the facility will remain at the building and are not affected by the layoffs.It's the latest round of layoffs impacting Spectrum, which also closed a call center facility in March in Wisconsin, which led to 313 jobs being lost.The company was reported to have laid off 1,200 workers back in October.During Q1, Charter shed 120,000 broadband customers, ending the quarter with 30.52 million broadband subscribers. Charter also shed 60,000 cable TV customers in the quarter.The company is pushing to complete its $34.5 billion acquisition of Cox Communications following approval from the FCC, though it is still waiting for approval in California.
