A new study reveals South African drivers spend over 10 days a year commuting—the highest average in the world.

A global study commissioned by AutoTrader, the UK's largest automotive marketplace, has revealed that South African drivers spend an average of over 10 days a year behind the wheel just commuting.

Clocking in at an average of 10 days, 4 hours, and 48 minutes annually, South African motorists sit well ahead of the global commuting average of 8 days, 5 hours, and 53 minutes.

Diving deeper into the specifics, South Africa tops the international list, narrowly edging out India (10 days, 1 hour, and 55 minutes) and Ireland (9 days, 14 hours, and 10 minutes).

Meanwhile, Australian drivers clocked the longest individual average daily commute times, contributing to their high global ranking.
