In continuation of the investigation into the 11 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants working in two construction sites in the city, the Mangaluru City police have arrested three middlemen from West Bengal for allegedly bringing Bangladeshi nationals to Mangaluru for work.The police gave the names of the arrested persons as Moidul Islam, 35, Delaewar Hossain, 29, and Rasul Islam, 23, all from West Bengal. While Islam and Hossain were arrested in the city, Rasul was arrested by the Kolkata police.Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said that the three middlemen brought labourers from various States of North India for work in construction sites. Among these labourers were Bangladesh nationals. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) H.N. Mithun coordinated with the Kolkata police for the arrest of Rasul. “Our team has left for Kolkata already. Once he is brought here, we’ll know if there are any others too,” Mr. Reddy said.As many as 11 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, including four minors, were found at two construction sites on July 13.
