Mangaluru city police on July 13 found three illegal immigrants at Kuntikana during their search for illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. In addition, they are questioning 11 more suspected illegal immigrants found in Kodical area.On being tipped off, a team from Urwa police station went to a construction site at Kuntikana and questioned three persons. After going through their records, police found that they are illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.A separate team visited a construction site at Kodical, and found 11 suspected illegal immigrants. The police said they are verifying records of these persons.In a statement, former councillor of Kodical, Kiran Kumar Kodical, said eight Bangladeshi residents were taken away by police on July 13 morning for questioning. These eight persons were working as construction labourers in the city for the past two years. They were found to be using fake Aadhaar cards.Mr. Kodical told construction firms and others to properly check identity documents of people working at their site, as there is a likelihood of more illegal immigrants working in Mangaluru. “If they are suspicious of any of worke, the information should be passed on to the nearest police station,” he said.On July 9, the Surathkal police detained eight illegal Bangaladeshi immigrants, working in a construction site.
