MIDFIELDER Georger Matlou has committed to a long term contract at Stellenobosch after seperating with Kaizer Chiefs.
Stellenbosch FC have bolstered their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season with the triple signing of defender Terrence Mashego, midfielder George Matlou, and young goalkeeper Nathan Garrow. Mashego joins the club on a season-long loan, while Matlou and Garrow have committed to long-term permanent contracts.
Mashego arrives at Stellies from Mamelodi Sundowns. The Bafana Bafana left-back had fallen out of favor under Sundowns' coach Miguel Cardoso and spent last season on loan at Durban City.
He enjoyed an exceptional campaign with Durban City last season, playing a pivotal role in helping the club secure a top-eight finish and clinch the Nedbank Cup – a triumph that booked their spot in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup.
Given Mashego's pedigree, which includes competing in the CAF Champions League with Sundowns and representing South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), Stellenbosch FC Chief Executive Rob Benadie is confident his veteran presence will guide the team forward.
