In a TikTok video posted during the NFL offseason, Aiono said she sought a court-ordered paternity confirmation for legal and financial protection while pregnant with their son. She also criticized comments made by Ryan Clark and his co-hosts on The Pivot podcast, saying their discussion intensified online abuse during one of the most difficult periods of her life.Why did Hallie Aiono file for a paternity test?Hallie Aiono, a content creator who dated Puka Nacua during their time at BYU and through the early stages of his NFL career, found herself at the center of public speculation after filing a legal petition last summer. Along with asking the court to establish paternity, she requested joint legal custody while seeking full physical custody of the child with visitation rights for the Rams receiver.The filing quickly fueled rumors that questioned the child's parentage and led many online to assume infidelity was involved. Aiono now says those assumptions ignored the reality of what she was dealing with behind the scenes.According to her, the legal filing was never about creating controversy. She said she needed formal confirmation of paternity because she was not receiving the financial or emotional support she believed she and her unborn son required. Nacua was later present in the delivery room when the child was born, and Aiono has maintained that the baby is his.What did Ryan Clark and The Pivot podcast say?The controversy gained even more attention after Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor discussed the situation on an episode of The Pivot last July.During the conversation, Crowder praised Nacua while questioning Aiono's actions.“Congratulations brother,” Crowder said. “You got out of the spider’s web before it stung your a–. She helped him out with this. You don’t even know (who the father is)?”Clark was even more critical.“You don’t have to prove (paternity) if (Nacua) believes it. What are you doing? You know why she’s even dumber?… (She) had one job. If you were in if for the money, you had one job… To not have s– with somebody else.“You couldn’t wait… I pray that it’s not (Puka’s) baby.”Those remarks circulated widely on social media and became a major talking point around the case.What has Hallie Aiono said about the backlash?In her recent TikTok video, Aiono said the public narrative overlooked the circumstances she faced during her pregnancy. She claimed Nacua had blocked her while she was expecting their child and said the court process was intended to secure legal protection rather than create headlines.“A year ago, three former NFL guys decided to talk about me on their podcast. They talked about me in a very disgusting and vile way… They talked so confidently about me, as if they knew me and what I was going through, and a year later, I am still healing from it,” she said.“What they didn’t know, and the world didn’t know, was that behind the headlines, I wasn’t receiving financial, emotional, physical support that I needed… I was focused on protecting myself and my son.”Aiono also denied cheating allegations and instead alleged that Nacua had been unfaithful during their relationship. She said the request for a paternity test was unfairly turned into a story questioning her character.Nacua has not publicly responded to Aiono's latest claims. Neither Clark nor the other members of The Pivot podcast have commented on her video. Meanwhile, the Rams receiver continues preparing for the final season of his rookie contract after establishing himself as one of the NFL's top wide receivers.
