The 14-year-old boy set to be sentenced in the murder of a Pickering woman had an “urge to kill” and threatened violence in a group chat with friends before she was killed.

The youth, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in April in front of Superior Court Justice Lisa Wannamaker, who is expected to rule on the length of his sentence on Tuesday in an Oshawa court.
