But shortly after the family arrived at the Airbnb on Sunday, the dream holiday ended in tragedy.‌The 4-year-old son reportedly entered a car where his 2-year-old relative had been waiting inside. Florida police said the boy found an unsecure gun and fired it, killing his toddler relative.‌"Once you pull that trigger, that projectile is going somewhere, and this one hit a 2-year-old and killed it," Osceola County Sheriff Chris Blackmon said. Officers raced to the scene just before 4pm on Sunday and emergency services who arrived at the scene attempted lifesaving measures in a bid to save the toddler, reports CBS12.‌The 2-year-old was later taken to hospital where he was tragically pronounced dead. In a Monday news conference, Blackmon stressed the importance of gun safety and gun storage and urged people with one at home to take note.He continued: "This is so simple to put on, and it would stop that problem from happening. If it can save one life, it's worth that investment to us."Deputies are now planning to speak to the 4-year-old who reportedly fired the gun.
