FAST candidate Tuia Pu'a Fuatogi Letoa has been officially declared the Member of Parliament for Safata No. 2 following the constituency's by-election.
A Warrant of Election issued by Head of State Tuimalealiifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II on July 13 confirmed Tuia's election to Parliament under Section 84(2)(b) of the Electoral Act 2019.
The declaration follows Tuia's victory in the Safata No. 2 by-election held on Friday, July 10.
Preliminary results released by the Office of the Electoral Commission showed Tuia winning 820 votes, ahead of independent candidate Leleua Suataga Aso on 551 votes and fellow independent candidate Toleafoa Losalia Sagalala Niumata on 106 votes.
Tuia secured the highest number of votes in several polling stations, including Vaiee E.F.K.S, Fusi Metotisi, and Mulivai Katoliko.
