“Europe’s defence intelligence should be built and improved on terms Europe sets,” says CEO.
Finnish defence AI company NestAI has launched a new effort to build European-made AI models for the battlefield, backed by cooperation with the Finnish Ministry of Defence and the Estonian Defence Forces.
The company said its first AI systems, called NestOS, will focus on helping military forces operate drones, manage missions and make faster decisions in rapidly changing combat environments.
NestOS Engine will be able to produce and simulate conditions too rare or too dangerous to collect data and turn scenarios that have not yet happened into training data at scale.
NestAI argues that Europe can build advanced military platforms but still depends on foreign-developed AI models that could become unavailable in a crisis.
