Manuel “Manny” V. Pangilinan is undeniably one of the most recognizable figures in the country’s business scene today.
A business tycoon, sports benefactor, philanthropist and self-made billionaire, his influence can be felt in every aspect of our lives. This is understandable since he has interests in every major business entity that contributes significantly to nation-building. From telecommunications, mass media to infrastructure development, his conglomerate has expanded over the years to hospitals and public utilities like water, electricity, mass transit and tollways management.
But for a man who’s now considered as one of the country’s most successful businessmen, it is difficult to see any reflection of his humble beginnings.
