SpaceX plans to launch the newest version of its Starship rocket later this week after the close of an investigation required by the Federal Aviation Administration into issues from an earlier test flight.

The company said Monday it is preparing to launch the flight test as soon as Thursday, with a launch window set to open in the evening. The mission is for Starship "V3," a redesigned version of the vehicle designed to deploy bigger satellites.

The rocket had run into issues during a May test flight, prompting the FAA to require the company to investigate. During such investigations, companies probe what went wrong with their vehicles and report back to the FAA, which gives the go-ahead to return to flight.
