The data center arm of Japanese telco NTT has broken ground on its campus in Chonburi, Thailand.NTT Global Data Centers announced on LinkedIn that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bangkok 4 data center campus took place last week.It also revealed that Fuji Electric would be building the campus’ substation.The data center developer signed a 100MW PPA with Thai electrical utility B.Grimm Power to power the campus back in January 2026, with energization expected to occur in Q2 of 2027.This will be NTT’s fourth data center in the country, all of which are located within the Bangkok metropolitan area.NTT Global Data Centers has been looking to expand its footprint. CEO Doug Adams said in March that the company was working to double its capacity to 4GW in as little as two years.
