July 13 (UPI) -- Immigration and Customs Enforcement was involved in a shooting in Maine that left one person dead, the state's speaker of the house announced Monday.

The shooting took place in Biddeford.

"A person was killed. ICE was involved. State Police and the Department of Public Safety are now on scene to gather details and would expect the FBI to investigate as well," Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau said in a post on Facebook.

There were few details available about the shooting, but Biddeford police told CNN there was no threat to the public. The news outlet also reached out to ICE and the Department of Homeland Security for comments.
