Abbas Sadrianfar, the CEO of the Khuzestan Water and Power Authority, announced that during the early Monday morning US strikes on July 13, the RMD drainage pumping station in Hendijan, located along the Mahshahr-Hendijan axis, was targeted.

According to the organization’s CEO, Shaker Moheiseni, an employee of the Zohreh and Jarahi Irrigation and Drainage Networks Exploitation Company, was killed in the attack, while another employee from the same division was wounded. He added that the injured worker is currently undergoing medical treatment.

The Khuzestan Water and Power Authority official stated that the RMD drainage pumping station is a major operational facility in the region, playing a critical role in managing and discharging drainage water from agricultural lands, and that its continuous operation is vital for maintaining the efficiency of the irrigation and drainage networks.

Officials of the Islamic Republic have not yet released further details regarding the extent of the damage inflicted on the facility or its operational status following the strike. The US attacks on military sites and infrastructure in southern Iran began early Monday, with American officials stating that the strikes were carried out to degrade the Islamic Republic’s capability to threaten navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
