State Information Commissioner V.S.K. Chakravarthi on Monday found irregularities in implementing the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, during a surprise inspection at various government offices in Kakinada city and Samarlakota in the Kakinada district.Asserting a stern action on the officials, he stated in a release that show-cause notices will be served on the officials, who failed to maintain the RTI applications’ registry and citizen services charter.In Samarlakota, Mr. Chakravarthi has found absence of data on the number of applications received RTI in the officer registry and the absence of display of RTI charter in Samarlakota Municipal office and Sub-Registrar office.Later, he inspected Kakinada Municipal Corporation, Regional office of Education Department, office of the District Education Officer and Samagra Siksha wings, where he found absence of registry on the RTI applications.
