A group of employees from urban and rural comprehensive health service centers affiliated with Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences gathered in front of the university’s central headquarters on Monday, July 13, 2026, to protest over their salaries, benefits, and unfulfilled labor demands. The protesters demanded that their livelihood concerns be addressed, that the payment system for wages and benefits be reformed, and that officials at Neyshabur University of Medical Sciences be held accountable. The employees stated that their professional demands remain unanswered despite repeated follow-ups.
Concurrently, labor protests by Social Security retirees continued in several Iranian cities. On Sunday, July 12, a group of retirees gathered in front of the Social Security Hospital in Dezful. Criticizing their living conditions, the protesting retirees demanded pension increases in line with the cost of living and greater attention to healthcare issues.
They also protested against the state of services provided at the Dezful Social Security Hospital, calling for shortages to be addressed and for the quality of medical care to be improved. In recent months, protests by Social Security retirees have become a regular feature of labor demonstrations across various cities in Iran.
