Lieutenant Colonel Oleh Mytropolitanskyi on a Unit "With Its Own Vibe" and the Air Assault Troops' Favorite Weapons
Twenty-seven-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Oleh Mytropolitanskyi, whose call sign is "Skipper," jokingly describes himself as the "captain of the Vinnytsia Sea." In reality, he chose the nickname after Skipper, the penguin from the animated series The Penguins of Madagascar, whose leadership and command qualities he admires.
Mytropolitanskyi commands the Specialized Training Battalion at the 199th Training Center within the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), where he was assigned after being wounded in combat.
He describes himself as a man of few words. But when it comes to his battalion, he is happy to talk.
"SOONER OR LATER, A WEAPON WILL EMERGE THAT CAN NEUTRALIZE THE ENTIRE ELECTRONIC COMPONENT"
