Not your average Lego build: this life-sized Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear weighs 1,800kg, has a V8 engine and hit 111km/h.
Lego is loved by kids of all ages, even those over 50, and those attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK over the weekend got to see what is easily the coolest plastic creation ever.
Lego brought its life-sized, drivable Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear to the hill, just a month after setting a world speed record at the very same venue. In June, this very creation became the fastest Lego model ever, more than doubling the previous record as it reached 111km/h.
Built to celebrate the far smaller Lego Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear model, the life-sized version is constructed from 327,906 Lego elements and weighs 1,800kg, which is less than many full-sized modern SUVs.
Fitted with a real V8 petrol-powered engine paired with a functional nine-speed automatic transmission, the model took more than 9,400 hours to develop and construct.
