A 51-year-old businessman was arrested at his Welgelegen residence in Polokwane on Monday following an intelligence-driven police operation linking him to two alleged arson incidents that caused an estimated R800,000 in damage.
A 51-year-old businessman has been arrested in connection with two alleged malicious damage to property incidents that left a vehicle destroyed, a house partially damaged, and an estimated R800,000 in losses in Polokwane.
The suspect was arrested on Monday, during an intelligence-driven operation conducted by the South African Police Service's Provincial Tracking Team and Provincial Investigation Unit.
According to Limpopo police, the businessman was apprehended at his residence in the Welgelegen suburb of Polokwane after investigators executed a warrant of arrest.
The arrest stems from two incidents reported on June 28, 2026, in the Seshego and Westernburg policing precincts.
