Greek Australian hospitality operators are making their mark on Brisbane’s dining scene, with new venues from Tassis Group, Kosta’s Takeaway and Yolk among the city’s most anticipated food openings of 2026, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Tassis Group has launched Aunty in Fortitude Valley, its 12th venue and a new chapter for the hospitality group behind acclaimed restaurants including Fatcow and Yamas The Greek. The restaurant showcases a woodfire grill, fresh seafood, premium steaks and an extensive 250-bottle wine list, reflecting the group’s continued evolution in the city’s competitive dining landscape.
Sydney sandwich favorite Kosta’s Takeaway has also expanded into Brisbane, with Greek Australian owner Benji Terkalas opening a Newstead location at Gasworks Plaza. The venue brings its much-loved schnitty sandwich to the city while introducing new menu items created in collaboration with chef Adam Wolfers, including a chicken shawarma and breakfast yiros.
Meanwhile, Greek Australian founder Yianni Passaris has taken Yolk into Brisbane’s CBD following the success of its Newstead store. The new location features the brand’s signature bacon and egg rolls, burgers, chicken rice bowls and popular range of sauces, supported by an expanded kitchen operation to meet growing demand.
