A young British toddler has tragically died in Cyprus after falling off a fourth-floor hotel balcony while on holiday with his parents. The boy, who has not yet been identified, perished following the incident at the Paphos hotel the family were staying at, which local media reported happened yesterday evening at around 6pm. The family are believed to have arrived at the hotel on Saturday, and were meant to stay at the hotel in the coastal area of Chloraka until July 25. But as the child was playing with his father, he fell from an open corridor window into the main terrace of the hotel. He sadly died upon arrival at the hospital. After Cypriot police launched an investigation into the incident, they arrested the 37-year-old father on charges of 'causing death through negligence, reckless and dangerous actions.'Local media reported that police were notified of the incident at around 6.40pm, after the child was picked up an ambulance and taken to Paphos General Hospital. The boy, who local media reported as being either two or three years of age, will have an autopsy performed on his this afternoon at the morgue of Nicosia General Hospital. The father will also be brought before the Paphos District Court this morning for officials to obtain a detention order.
