The scrap to secure a seat to South Africa is intensifying in All Blacks camp. With just over three weeks until Dave Rennie names his squad for the historic tour, the All Blacks have one final audition before heading to face the world champions. And it's about as stern a test as possible, the enigmatic Irish looking to emulate their heroics of 2022, where they clinched their first ever series on New Zealand soil. The All Blacks will not only be desperate to preserve their 30-year unbeaten record at Eden Park, but also emerge injury-free before embarking on what shapes as a demanding tour of South Africa.Rennie has already confirmed that Scott Barrett won't be available for any part of the South African tour as he recovers from an ongoing back injury, however, fellow injured lock Fabian Holland remains a good chance to be on the plane."Fabian's a chance. He's going to head out for Otago early before we name the team. Fabian's rehab has been excellent. He's in good nick. So it'll just be nice for him to get some game time for Otago and then hopefully be available."Rennie named a 34-man squad for the Nations Championship, with a further 10 players to be added for the South African tour."It's a likely six-four [forwards-backs] split, but maybe not. There is a lot of competition for places based on performances over the last couple of weeks. We'll make some calls around that, but there'll be some really unlucky people missing out because guys have fronted pretty well for us. But the competition's tight."Two tests into his tenure, Rennie has given himself "a good pass mark" following wins over France and Italy. All Blacks coach Dave Rennie has given his side a pass mark in his first two tests.Michael Bradley"Quite happy with the end result, happy with the effort, the attitude. The boys have been awesome. There's a fair bit being thrown at them and so I think we've made some good shifts."However, the biggest test now awaits with the Irish coming to Auckland to challenge the streak. While the All Blacks no longer carry the same sense of invincibility they once did, the 30-year, 52-test undefeated record at Eden Park remains intact, and Rennie defends the streak for the first time this Saturday."It's not something I'll reflect on because I don't think it helps. This is just about us getting our prep right and our mindset right and performing well. There's a lot of motivating factors for our boys wearing the All Black jersey and I guess that whole fortress mindset at Eden Park is one of those."We're playing against an Irish side who last time they toured this country, they won a series. No doubt that this game will be massive for them as well and we're expecting them to front with a strong side."Ireland are also two from two to kick off their Nations Championship campaign, with a hard fought win over Australia before defeating Japan at the weekend."Your next test is always your biggest test. This is big game in the context of our season before we head away."
