MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Energy (DOE) has temporarily put on hold the fifth round of the Green Energy Auction Program (GEA-5) for offshore wind as it recalibrates the auction framework to better align projects with infrastructure, regulatory and implementation requirements.

In a statement, the DOE said the review aims to ensure the country’s first offshore wind auction proceeds under stronger conditions, with clearer interagency coordination and greater implementation readiness.
