MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Energy (DOE) boosted capacity and extended deadlines for its special waste-to-energy auction to attract more bidders.

The DOE said on Friday that it would increase the installation target for thermal combustion WTE projects under the Green Energy Auction Program to 400 megawatts (MW) from the original 230 MW.
