But despite their strong bond, their relationship has faced heavy scrutiny from viewers and fellow Islanders alike.‌Now, after exiting the villa, the couple reflected on their journey, with Lola saying she "couldn't have asked for a better journey with someone" and Sean adding he felt like he found his "happy ever after" with the former police detective. In her exit interview, Lola was asked how it felt to be leaving the show.‌She said: "I think it was the perfect end to our journey. Me and Sean were really happy to have gone. I think we had the most incredible time there. We met the most incredible people and most of all, we found each other. The other two couples there had so much left to give and so much left to learn about themselves, whereas me and Sean were in a really good place."Being able to take the burden off Lorenzo, just having to pick, because we know how much he struggled the last time, was nice. We went in there for love and we found that, so there was nothing more we needed from it."‌Describing her experience on the show as "incredible", Lola said she had "with best time" with Sean, as she wasn't expecting to find love so "smoothly". She continued: "How deeply we both fell so quickly as well, I couldn't have asked for a better journey with someone. It was incredible."I met a best friend. I love all the girls to bits and they're all incredible girls, but obviously you've got my Yasmin, I love everything about her. So I've got a best friend out of it as well!" Talking about how she fell for Sean from the beginning, Lola said: "I coupled up with Sean from day one."I really fancied him to start with but up until we'd got into bed that night, we hadn't really had an opportunity to speak. Then the minute we got into bed and we started talking, I was like, 'I really like this boy.' Obviously you do the rounds the next day and speak to other people, but the whole day I was just excited to get back into bed with him. It was so early on but I just knew. Soon after that, we were basically exclusive."‌Lola continued: "I feel like the whole way through we've just gone from strength to strength to strength. Being able to be the person to help him regain his trust has just been the most incredible thing in the world."On the show, Sean faced scrutiny when footage revealed him participating in a three-way kiss in Casa Amor. However, Lola said he didn't do anything disrespectful - and she stressed that he respected her boundaries. Watching it back on Movie Night, Lola said "it really didn't mean anything" to her and she didn't feel upset as she has "so much trust" in Sean.‌She added: "He reassures me all the time, every single day. I know how much he loves me. I know he'd never intentionally hurt me." Lola also spoke about her ongoing villa feud with Casa Amor bombshell Julia Majchrzak, saying she felt disappointed as "she was trying to crack on with the one boy who was exclusive and I'd told her that."In the interview, Lola said she built "such a strong bond" with Yasmin as she was "a little piece of home" and "just the most incredible person". However, she stressed that there was no drama between the girls, adding that both she and Sean felt "so loved" after seeing how emotional everyone was when they left the villa.‌Talking about what's in store for her and her new partner after leaving Love Island, she explained: "We're so excited. All we did in there was talk about the future and now we actually get to start that next chapter. We've got loads of plans. I've said I'll move to Dublin, which I'm so excited about. I can't wait to watch one of his football matches."We've talked about travelling together and just enjoying normal life. Honestly, the things we're most excited about are the boring things. Having a Chinese, watching a movie. He loves a chick-flick, so I couldn't have found a better boy. He's literally my dream man."In his own exit interview, Sean said he felt "mixed emotions" at having to leave behind people he has formed a strong bond with - but he explained he feels "quite happy in the sense that me and Lola get to start our life together." He went on to describe his experience on the dating show as "a great success because I found Lola on day one" as he reflected on the moment they left the villa, saying: "I felt like I'd got my happy ever after and I get to keep going."‌He added that he knew Lola was the girl for him straight away, and despite trying to get to know other people, he never had a doubt. Talking about Casa Amor, he said there were girls who would be his "usual type" but he had "absolutely zero interest in getting to know them."Sean said Lola wasn't upset after seeing his performance during Movie Night, which he credits their "open communication" for. "It definitely had more of an impact on me than it did on her. If I could take it back, I would. But it was just a game," he said.‌The Islander also reflected on his friendship with Lorenzo, describing him as "a brother for life" ands aying he "can't wait to make more memories on the outside." Talking about his future with Lola, he said: "We talk about the future all the time. She has dates planned for me over in Kent and London, then I have dates planned in Dublin and Galway."I think the plan is that we want to do a bit of travelling first. We want to go to a few different places, maybe Thailand, Australia and around there. Then obviously she said she wants to move to Dublin. We're going to get a little apartment and start life together."Love Island airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVXArticle continues belowLike this story?
