In an all-Czech women’s Wimbledon final on Saturday, No. 9 Linda Noskova defeated No. 10 Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to win her first major title. The win caps off a dominant grass court season for the 21-year-old Noskova, who also won the Berlin Open in June.
Noskova fittingly sealed the championship with back-to-back unreturned serves—Noskova leads all WTA top 100 players this season in ace percentage (10.1%) and first serve points won (73.9%). She will win approximately $4.8 million in prize money, nearly doubling her career on-court earnings of $5.9 million prior to the tournament.
On Sunday, No. 1 Jannik Sinner beat No. 2 Alexander Zverev 6-7 (7), 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-4 in the men’s final to defend his title and win his fifth major overall—and first of this year. After being upset in the Australian Open semifinals by Novak Djokovic and getting eliminated in the second round of the French Open when he suffered from heat exhaustion, Sinner once again cements his status as the best player in the world. He has a 38-3 record in 2026 and is more than 5,000 ranking points ahead of his peers.
Sinner also took home approximately $4.8 million for his victory. (Wimbledon typically pays out the second-most prize money of the four majors.) That payout moves Sinner back into fourth all-time in career ATP prize money with nearly $70 million after Zverev pulled ahead by winning the French Open last month.
