FC Barcelona is getting its paperwork in order. Karim Adeyemi, the 24-year-old German forward, is set to travel to Barcelona during the week of July 12-19 to complete his medical and formally sign his contract with the club.
The deal, confirmed on July 10, 2026, is structured around an initial fee of €22 million paid to Borussia Dortmund, with performance-related add-ons that could push the total to €29 million.
How the deal came together
Barcelona’s opening bid of €20 million was rejected by Dortmund. The clubs found common ground at €22 million fixed, with another €7 million potentially unlocked through title wins and individual performance benchmarks.
Adeyemi came through Red Bull Salzburg before joining Dortmund, where he developed into a full German international. His contract at Dortmund was set to expire in June 2027, which gave Barcelona some negotiating leverage, and Dortmund an incentive to sell rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.
