Tourists and passengers are asked to beware of drivers misrepresenting themselves as Uber drivers.
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) said it has enhanced passenger awareness for safety measures at Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) following concerns that fake Uber drivers were overcharging travellers.
This included increased security visibility in key passenger areas.
This comes after frequent traveller and digital creator, Johan van Schalkwyk, went viral on social media, warning tourists to be aware of fake Uber drivers who were overcharging tourists up to R4 200 for a trip.
“All ACSA airports place passenger safety and security at the centre of their operations," it said.
