Five people sustained injuries in a road accident involving two KSRTC buses and a car on the MC Road at Vamanapuram in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. According to the police, the incident occurred after a KSRTC bus travelling from Karette towards Venjaramoodu had stopped at the Vamanapuram hospital junction for passengers to alight. Another KSRTC bus travelling in the same direction crashed into the rear of the stationary bus, following which a car which trailed behind rammed into the second bus.The injured include the passengers of the car and the buses. They were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. None of the injured are in critical condition. The driver of the second KSRTC bus reportedly told police officials that the collision occurred after he was unable to stop the vehicle in time when the bus ahead braked suddenly. The Venjaramoodu police have registered a case in connection with the incident. Traffic in the area was temporarily affected before returning to normal. Published - July 12, 2026 06:37 pm IST
