NewsUK NewsWeatherAs the heatwave abruptly ends, new weather maps reveal most of England will be drenched by a wall of rain sweeping across the region in a matter of weeks12:35, 12 Jul 2026Despite parts of the country currently enjoying another record-breaking heatwave this weekend, a gigantic rain bomb is set to strike next week and bring an end to proceedings.‌Maps from WXCharts, which uses MetDesk data, reveal cooler temperatures and periods of unsettled weather will sweep across England towards the end of July.‌A huge wall of rain, stretching 390-miles from Cumbria in the North West to Cornwall at the opposing bottom of the country, will move across on July 26.‌Only few are forecast to dodge the showers with downpours set to drench most of the country. Only small parts of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hampshire will stay dry, reports The Express.The South West is anticipated to see the worst of the weather, such as Cornwall and Devon, as the weather appears to move eastward. Here, the forecast warns up to 7.5mm/hr of rain will fall by midday.‌Some spots in South Wales, Cumbria, Durham and Northumberland may also see such heavy showers.The charts come as the Met Office warns of "changeable weather" in its long forecast for July 26 to August 9, with longer spells of rain set to hit - and possibly thunder.It reads: "Changeable weather patterns are expected during this period. Showers or some longer spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps heavy and thundery.‌"Some drier and brighter interludes are also possible, especially in the south and southeast.
