Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has published video footage claiming to show its naval forces launching missiles and drones at US military installations across Gulf states. The footage, released between July 10-12, represents Tehran’s response to a massive wave of American strikes just days earlier.
The IRGC’s retaliatory strikes reportedly targeted US facilities across multiple Gulf states, including the prominent Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The footage was framed as a direct response to US Central Command operations conducted on July 7-8, which hit approximately 90 Iranian military sites.
Those American strikes were aimed at neutralizing threats to commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow waterway through which roughly a fifth of the world’s oil supply passes daily. Iran had allegedly attacked commercial vessels, breaching a prior ceasefire agreement.
US targets included Iranian air defense systems, naval assets, and missile and drone storage facilities along the country’s coastline. Military sites in Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait were all involved. Alerts and sirens were activated across multiple Gulf states following the strikes.
