Anne Robinson has confirmed she is set to leave her £4m converted barn in the Cotswolds after living in the area for around 40 years, admitting, 'I don't want anyone to dictate my future'.11:55, 12 Jul 2026Anne Robinson, 81, has revealed she's preparing to leave her £4million converted Cotswolds barn, situated just outside the village of Hatherop, after approximately 40 years in the region.‌The presenter, famous for fronting BBC game show The Weakest Link, confessed: "I am leaving the Cotswolds after 40-odd years. A heartbreaking decision."‌Discussing the reason for this significant move, Anne told The Telegraph that she wishes to be nearer to her daughter, Emma, as she grows older.‌Despite maintaining good fitness and health, Anne explained she doesn't want her daughter, whom she had with her first husband, the late Scottish journalist Charles Wilson, fretting about her being far away should she become "infirm".The television host said: "I will be 82 in the autumn. I'm fit, but aware of how many of my girlfriends are trying to cope with an elderly, infirm mother miles away."‌"I wouldn't pass a driving test. I don't want anyone to dictate my future."I've bought a beautiful fourth-floor terrace filled with trees and plants overlooking Hyde Park. A small flat is attached. Importantly, it is only a few streets away from Emma."Anne also reflected on the "massive changes" she has witnessed in the picturesque village of Bibury, where she initially settled in the Cotswolds with her family, which she claims is now overrun with "day trippers".‌The former Countdown presenter also shared her thoughts on the wave of influential figures and celebrities who've made the Cotswolds their home in recent years, remarking: "The draw of the Cotswolds is further reaching than ever before."Two major tech titans have moved in.
