A cleaning enthusiast has shared how combining kitchen products could lead to the cleanest shower screen you've ever seen, instantly transforming your bathroom12:05, 12 Jul 2026Cleaning shower screens can prove incredibly challenging, as it often feels like glass cleaner will never achieve that perfect, streak-free finish. Instead, it tends to leave unsightly marks across the glass, creating a frustrating situation where the screen looks even worse than before you started.‌However, one cleaning enthusiast has revealed a brilliant hack for those whose "mum never taught you" – and let's face it, plenty of mums haven't passed this wisdom on.‌Instead of depending on traditional glass cleaner, TikTok user @mylittlehome.x demonstrated her "shower screen cleaning hack" that guarantees a sparkling result every time, leaving it looking genuinely as good as new.‌She revealed her own mum hadn't taught her to clean either, and it wasn't until she got married she discovered she had no idea how to "cook or clean" forcing her to rapidly learn the skills herself."If the shower screen is dirty, then the rest of the bathroom ends up looking dirty," she observed, so the first thing you'll need is a Dishmatic. For the uninitiated, a Dishmatic is a well-known, refillable washing-up tool. It has a hollow handle that you fill with washing-up liquid, which automatically flows through an interchangeable sponge or scourer head while you're scrubbing your crockery, pots, and pans.‌Content cannot be displayed without consentBut this cleaning whizz believes you can deploy one of these in the bathroom to get your shower screen spotless, using half parts Fairy Liquid and half parts vinegar.First, you should "put the Dishmatic under the tap to get it a bit wet," and then "scrub the living daylights out of your shower screen".‌She recommended doing this daily, or every other day, because you won't get a "big build-up of water marks," making the task considerably easier.Once you've scrubbed the Dishmatic across the entire shower screen, grab a squeegee and use straight downward motions to achieve a gleaming finish. Finally, she applied a shower shine product to make it look extra pristine, suggesting you tackle this clean right after you've had a shower to "kill two birds with one stone," which certainly makes perfect sense. "When you spray it on the shower side, you're supposed to not rub it in," she explained.‌On the opposite side, she wiped it down using a microfibre cloth, though she noted that skipping this step on the shower side would save you a few minutes. "If you have serious water marks, this is going to be amazing," she gushed. In the comments section, someone wrote: "Yes! Omg I spent so much money and storage on multiple different cleaning products only to realise Fairy is the best for the kitchen and bathroom.""And make sure to get the non-scratch Dishmatic sponge heads!" one woman pointed out.Article continues below"My mum did teach me but I just can't retain the information," a TikTok user joked.Have you tried this method in the bathroom?
