Karoline Hanks climbs Chapman’s Peak as part of her 8,849 m elevation challenge to support Project Noordhoeked in 2025.

Karoline Hanks is embarking on a challenging 192km journey to rehabilitate Sage, a rare olive ridley turtle rescued from a ghost fishing net.

Hanks, who manages Project Noordhoeked, is preparing for the fundraising challenge next month to help pay for the rehabilitation of a rare olive ridley turtle rescued off the Western Cape coast.

Hanks will take on the equivalent of three PUFfeR (Peninsula Ultra Fun Run) trail races over two days, completing the 64km route between the Cape Point reserve gate and Green Point Rugby Club for a total distance of 192km.

She hopes to raise R80 000 for Sage, an olive ridley turtle currently being cared for at the Turtle Conservation Centre after she was found trapped in a 30kg ghost fishing net at De Hoop Nature Reserve last December.
