Dec. 29 (UPI) -- A British rowing team competing in an Atlantic Ocean endurance challenge stopped to rescue a large sea turtle they found entangled in a discarded net.

The members of the Hampshire-based Call to Earth team -- John Hammond, Stacey Rivers and Emma Wolstenholme -- said they were about 895 miles into their more than 3,000-mile Atlantic crossing as part of the World's Toughest Row when they spotted the turtle entangled in marine debris.

The posted a video to Instagram showing how they paused their journey to free the large turtle and send it on its way.
