According to Dutch intelligence agencies, the General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) and the Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD), Russia used civilian Internet-connected surveillance cameras to spy on NATO military bases.
According to Ukrinform, The Telegraph reported this.
A joint investigation found that hackers linked to the Kremlin gained access to IP cameras installed along military transport routes. They used them to gather information about weapons being supplied to Kyiv.
“Organizations with IP [internet protocol] cameras on these routes have now been warned so that they could take action,” the agencies stated after exposing the so-called “large-scale Russian operation.”
According to the AIVD and MIVD, the operation targeted European NATO member states, particularly the Netherlands, as well as Ukraine.
