Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks with his Omani counterpart on Saturday over mechanisms to ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had warned of possible further military action against Iran, while Khamenei vowed continued retaliation following the killing of his father and predecessor, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.In a written message carried by Iranian state television, Mojtaba Khamenei said revenge "is the will of our nation and must certainly be carried out." It was his first public statement since the funeral ceremonies for the former supreme leader, which concluded with his burial in Mashhad on Thursday.Qatari officials are also participating in discussions between Iran and Oman in Muscat over a possible partial reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, Axios reported, citing a diplomat familiar with the talks. The discussions reportedly include a possible statement allowing full and free movement through the "median lane" of the strait, located in international waters.
