The Nigerian Air Force said it has sustained its counter-terrorism offensive with fresh airstrikes that destroyed a terrorist enclave and killed several fighters in Borno State.
The NAF said the operation was carried out on July 10 by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area following credible intelligence on renewed terrorist activities.
In a statement on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Force said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged.
“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists,” the statement read.
The NAF said the latest operation further degraded the terrorists’ ability to regroup and move freely, describing it as another major success in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
