Four residents kidnapped during a late-night raid on the Yellow House community in Mpape, Abuja, have regained their freedom after operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command engaged their abductors in a gunfight deep inside the Jikoko Hills.

The rescue followed an intensive search operation launched immediately after the victims were taken away by the gunmen.

Although the hostages were freed without injury, the attack claimed the life of one resident, another victim who suffered a gunshot wound remains on admission and is responding to treatment.

The FCT Police Command announced the development in a statement on Friday through its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh.
