The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has identified several criminal hotspots across the Federal Capital Territory and arrested 560 suspects during coordinated raids aimed at tackling crime in Abuja.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, saying the operations were driven by intelligence gathering and community policing.
According to him, the raids targeted identified black spots across the territory as part of the command’s renewed offensive against criminal activities.
“The FCT Police Command, through intelligence gathering and community policing, has identified and raided several criminal hotspots across the Federal Capital Territory in the past week,” Sanusi said.
He explained that the operations were carried out by various police divisions across the command, resulting in the arrest of 560 suspects and the recovery of arms, ammunition, and illicit drugs.
