Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev has submitted to the National Assembly a report prepared by the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC) concerning checks involving individuals sanctioned under the US Global Magnitsky Act, the Interior Ministry announced.

The document was sent to Parliament Speaker Mihaela Dotsova after lawmakers requested access to available information from the ongoing inquiries. The ministry said the material provided does not interfere with current law enforcement procedures.

The report includes data from an international system containing flight reservation and travel records covering the period from the beginning of 2023 until June 2026. The information relates to an individual who is the subject of received reports and ongoing checks, in an apparent reference to Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) leader Delyan Peevski.

The issue gained public attention after Demerdzhiev told Parliament on July 2 that GDCOC had established that Peevski and Constitutional Court judge Desislava Atanasova had traveled together on a flight from Sofia to Dubai on April 5, 2024. Atanasova rejected the claim the following day, saying she had documents contradicting the allegation.
