DRAM chipmaker Nanya Technology Corp (南亞科技) yesterday said it is significantly boosting its capital expenditure for next year to NT$200 billion (US$6.22 billion) in an effort to accelerate chip capacity expansion to catch up with soaring customer demand.The budget would be a fourfold increase from the NT$52 billion for this year, Nanya Technology said.It would seek its board’s approval to allocate a major portion of the budget for its new memory chip fabrication plant in New Taipei City’s Taishan District (泰山), the company said.
