Safa has brought up some confussion regarding Hugo Broos' future with Bafana Bafana.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has moved to dismiss reports that Hugo Broos has left his position as Bafana Bafana head coach, announcing that in fact the Belgian remains in charge of the national team.

Reports are that Broos' tenure had come to an end following South Africa’s historic FIFA World Cup campaign, but SAFA has rejected those claims as false.

What causes more confusion is that the 74-year-old himself, ahead of the World Cup, indicated that the 2026 tournament would mark the end of his coaching career.

However, upon his return from North America, he changed his tune saying he remained open to potentially assisting Safa in another capacity.
